The Indigenous Industry Network (IIN) supports economic empowerment as the foundation for Indigenous self-determination and community prosperity. As a majority First Nation owned enterprise, we consult and engage with diverse Indigenous communities, providing safe spaces for communities to identify their own priorities for economic empowerment and investment. Through place-based engagement drawing on diverse strategies and tools to reflect community, our work delivers evidence based and data rich advice to influence advocacy, funding, and policy work in complex social and geographically challenging environments.
Our unique approach to working with regional and remote communities draws on strategies and tools including photovoice, mapping, Yarning Circles, participatory workshops, and facilitated focus groups, surveys. These strategies equip us to identify and document the priorities and pathways for the community and the next generation of Indigenous leaders while strengthening capacity for lasting economic independence.
Indigenous Industry Network (IIN) is a 51% Indigenous-owned business with extensive expertise in culturally grounded co-design methodologies and place-based engagement with First Nations people and communities. Co-founded by our CEO Elizabeth Santo, a proud Waanyi/Gudjala woman, IIN is committed to delivering services that honour and respect local cultures and traditions.
Our team specialises in co-design, policy development, implementation, and evaluation, with a unique blend of industry, academia, research, policy, program design and implementation experience.
The team consists of experts in culturally grounded co-design, with extensive experience working in and with government, industry, and academia. IIN has developed a co-design model that aligns with best practices and fills gaps in existing consultation models. This model is based on key themes such as the creation of value for a group, community contribution, long-term relationships, and the importance of co-design as a core component of value creation.
